A Level 2 trade qualification is the fastest legal way onto a British construction site — and for an engineering graduate, it is the way in, not the ceiling.
Because in Britain the trade is how you get onto site — and being on site is how you rise. The tools are respected there; many of the people leading the work started with them in hand.
You would not be starting at the bottom. You would be starting with both the skill and the education.
01 — ENTRY
Qualified tradesperson
Level 2 qualified and able to build. This is where the £33,400 sits — day one, not the summit.

Chargehand
Leading a small gang. Setting out, sequencing, checking work — what your degree already trained you to do.

Supervisor / foreman
Programme, drawings, materials, safety. Reading a drawing properly is rare on a British site. For you it is normal.
04 — WHERE IT LEADS
Site management
Many of the people leading British sites came up through the trades. You would arrive with both the trade skill and the engineering education behind it.
This describes how the UK construction industry works — supervisors and managers there routinely come up through the trades. It is not a promise about your career, and BTI does not arrange promotions.
What it pays
A qualified bricklayer’s role in the UK carries a minimum salary benchmark of around

You live on campus. You work with your hands every day.
A day at the Sylhet campus
Residential, in Sylhet
A built and operating campus with accommodation, meals and workshops on the same site. You are not commuting across the city to a rented room.
The training day
Early start, most of the day on the tools, evenings on English and site conduct. Structured, demanding, and the same every day on purpose.

Site safety is part of the training from the first week, to a UK standard — because that is the standard your family member will be working to.
